IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA stores with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. Each year IKEA Range & Supply introduces 2,000 new products in the IKEA stores. The total range is almost 10,000 products.

For the Business Area Childrens & Lighting (CHILI) we are looking for a Product Requirement Engineer

As a Product Requirement Engineer you are working in the product development process. Here you will be responsible to identify and create product requirements  and to choose test methods for the product areas under your responsibility. 

You will also contribute to the creation of new and additional development tests and requirements needed for product validation that will contribute to better and safer products with higher customer satisfaction. 

Job Description

You will work closely to a product development team and as the Product Requirement Engineer you will be responsible to set and document the relevant product requirements as well as to have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization, internal and external test labs and suppliers to secure successful implementation of product requirements. 

You need to have good insight into product requirements and test methods and keep updated on changes in legislation and other external requirements that may influence the product areas under your responsibility. You will work with product approval, certification and documentation for new product developments and well as with improvements to the running range.

Qualifications

You probably have a University Degree in Engineering and relevant experience from working in a product development environment in the area of lighting or similar electrical products, as well as knowledge of certification and testing at 3rd party test laboratories. You also know how to apply agile development methods and you are experienced and motivated to work in a rapidly changing environment.

You have excellent communication skills and a high entrepreneurial driver; stretching the boundaries, challenging what already exists, always striving to develop better products and solutions. You are skilled in requirement management and verification planning. Experience from working with test and verification is a requirement as well as the ability to understand, translate and apply technical requirements in the product development. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.

Additional Information

The position is located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has  commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.
