Job Description

Inter IKEA Range & Supply is a core business within Inter IKEA Group, responsible for developing and supplying the global IKEA range. IKEA of Sweden AB, or IoS, is one of two core units within Range & Supply, and is responsible for developing and determining the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world. IoS is based in Älmhult – the heart of IKEA and the centre of IKEA range development and supply chain.

The Legal & Governance function of Range & Supply provides business minded support within a wide spectra of areas including agreements, IP, litigation and arbitration, corporate and govern-ance structures etc. We are now looking for a new colleague focusing on legal support within the field of IP. You will be based in Älmhult and report to an experienced Legal Counsel based in Älm-hult as well, and you will be part of a diverse organisation with global connections.

About the job
The Legal Counsel has a continuing responsibility to review, maintain and sustain the legal IP as-pects of the product and range development (including communication) within IoS and its subsid-iaries. Furthermore, the Legal Counsel has a continuing responsibility to support to secure the rights and assess the obligations in order to reduce exposure to legal risks in connection with product and range development. This includes responsibility to support in legal matters to defined business areas and other functional units.

The assignment includes:
•    Support the IoS strategies and thereto connected goals. 
•    Ensure and maintain a good cooperation within the legal team as well as between core ar-eas, group functions and other function/areas.
•    Monitor and secure the legal aspects from an IP point of view of product and range devel-opment related matters, and give day to day assistance on legal matters within contract management, IP, media and communication, relationship management and dispute resolu-tion relating to IP and infringement matters. 
•    Provide advice to relevant stakeholders on opportunities to optimize their legal position in order to reduce exposure to risks and optimize opportunities. 
•    Provide education to relevant stakeholders in the area of IP.
•    Keep updated in relevant international and local legal developments, including changes in international, domestic and case laws and regulations.
•    Participate as member in relevant committees, steering groups, projects or other bodies as required from time to time.
•    Support in other legal matters as requested from time to time.

Qualifications

You have completed a degree in law with excellent results. You probably have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience as an in-house legal counsel or lawyer in an international legal or business environment. You have a solid understanding of legal systems (or have the ability to ac-quire) in countries where Inter IKEA Group conducts business and operations, including litigation and arbitration procedures and how to lead such procedures internally and in relation to outside legal experts. You have a sound understanding and a sincere interest in business and IP and you are passionate about contributing with your knowledge to drive the business and optimise our per-formance.

Additional Information

The position is located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has  commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.
