We are now looking for talent to join us as Packaging Solution Engineer on a 12 months contract in the Lighting Development team.

As a Packaging Solution Engineer, you are responsible for:

•    Develop, optimize, and improve the packaging solution based on all aspects of Democratic Design and total value chain throughout the product lifecycle; 
•    Responsible to verify the packaging solution to the technical packaging requirements during the development phase;
•    Responsible for maximizing usage of IKEA Packaging Standards and Shared Solutions; 
•    Responsible for the technical packaging documentation. Secure that the documentation is updated and at correct quality level through the entire lifecycle according to IKEA Documentation Guideline and standards;
•    Responsible to identify packaging improvement potentials and give input to Action Plan. 

You are able to spread your technical knowledge further than your technical team of peers and create understanding for the packaging agenda. You need to have good insight into specifications and test methods and keep updated on changes in legislations and other external requirements that may influence the product areas under your responsibility. You will work with both new product developments as well as with improvements of the running range.

Qualifications

You have a University Degree in Engineering, preferably within packaging solutions, as well as a solid technical experience from a relevant field. You have experience in product development and/or creating and documenting product packing drawings and requirements, it is a plus if you have knowledge of certification and testing. You have an understanding of how costs are connected in the supply chain, and what aspects that drives costs in packaging development.

You are solutions oriented and have a drive in making tough decisions. You like to be challenged and to keep learning new things. You are comfortable working in an environment which is dynamic and where you are expected to take initiative and lead your work forward.

You are able to prioritize, set a clear agenda and like to deliver results on time. You have excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to take the lead in your own work as well support development teams for optimal logistic solutions. You have the ability to understand customer and legal demands, translate and apply as technical requirements in development of packaging/logistic solutions and verification methods for lowest possible cost.

You will work with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.
