Job Description:

The Managing Clinical Supervisor oversees the staff and clients within a geographically defined area and/or specific service line, and contributes clinical knowledge, team leadership, feedback and insight to support the success of four customer groups:

  • Organization: Promote our brand, reputation, culture and business results
  • Funding Sources: Ensure quick service of new referrals, impact on client progress and compliance with funding source requirements
  • Assigned Staff: Support individualized professional development and success, as appropriate for their level of experience and stage in clinical progression
  • Assigned Clients: Sustain high quality clinical practice, impactful client progress, excellent customer service and support from all team members

The impact of the daily work of the Managing Clinical Supervisor optimizes these business results:

  • Client Progress & Customer Satisfaction: ensuring staff are highly trained, with a focus on the development, growth and satisfaction of Program Managers to ensure outstanding client progress and satisfied, well-trained Behavior Interventionists
  • Employee Satisfaction & Retention: minimizing turnover, recruiting, and training costs, and maximizing their success and professional development
  • Revenue & Profit: constant focus on the profitability of the bottom line, working hand-in-hand with the Clinical Director to ensure efficient operations of the clinical team, maximization of contacted hours, high utilization, and growth in billable hours

This position reports to the Clinical Director of the appropriate region.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Render approximately 60 billable hours per month. Actual billable hours will be variable depending on size of region, number and needs of assigned clients and clinical team
  • Conduct direct billable services to clients, including FBAs, direct supervision of ongoing cases, as well as consultation on or coverage of certain cases assigned to other supervisors
  • Develop programs, updates, reports, and other paperwork with accuracy, timeliness, and clinical integrity and compliance in accordance with each funding source contract
  • Manage schedule and meet deadlines with consistency and reliability
  • Provide direct clinical supervision and management to a minimum of two (2) Program Managers
  • Assist with Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) training and professional development as assigned by the Clinical Director
  • Identify and resolve staff and client issues through direct intervention and/or escalation to Clinical Director
  • Deliver clear, complete, accurate, and timely communication in appropriate forms that produce the necessary actions from the recipient, both internal and external customers
  • Contribute ideas and solutions that enhance the region’s and the organization’s members, processes and culture
  • Help lead, supervise, and motivate assigned team members to optimize client progress in compliance with highest standards of clinical practice, customer service, and funding source requirements
  • Lead team to support client families with excellent clinical practice and customer service throughout their progression of services, from assessment to direct services to discharge

Help recruit, retain, develop and mentor Behavior Interventionists, Program Managers, and Clinical Supervisors (BCBAs) by supporting their success in accordance with their position, level of experience, and goals

Maximize caregiver participation, training, and commitment by building rapport, comprehension, and evaluation of the outcomes of services

Consistently model leadership and commitment by being reliable, punctual, and engaged during client sessions and ICT meetings

Represent company effectively at industry events, with funding sources and families


Qualifications

Job Skills:

  • Excellent ABA and clinical skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication: Clear language, accurate grammar and spelling
  • Excellent time management skills: billable vs non-billable, onsite/direct vs offsite/indirect hours
  • Excellent relationship management skills, customer service orientation, collaboration and team player attitude with all Customers (colleagues, client families and funding sources)
  • Adaptability/Flexibility with case, staff, and organizational transitions

Required Credentials:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD completed
  • BCBA certified
  • 3+ years of BCBA experience
  • 1+ years of managerial/supervisory experience

Additional Information

This position may require driving 30 to 60 miles a day when conducting quality control, supervision and consultation in the field, as well as occasional travel outside of regular business hours to serve as a company representative at conferences (internal and industry) and in new markets in development.
