Interlochen brings dozens of world-renowned artists to northwest Michigan, enhancing the region’s position on the global arts map. Interlochen presents more than 600 events each year by students, faculty and guest artists, making Interlochen one of the nation’s largest arts presenters. 

Job Description

This position is a career opportunity to use a broad-based knowledge of the arts, arts education, and specialized-program enrollment management while acting as an arts advocate at one of the nation’s premier arts education centers. The Office of Admission & Financial Aid enrolls more than 3,000 qualified elementary through high school-age students from more than 50 countries each year across numerous artistic disciplines and study sessions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

ENROLLMENT: Manage the recruitment and enrollment process for assigned arts areas for both the Arts Academy and the Summer Arts Camp from inquiry through enrollment including the coordination of campus visits, parent and student-candidate interviews/auditions and evaluations, assembly of candidate electronic and paper applications, and all other associated communication with prospective families. 

CULTIVATION: Develop a network of constituents within an assigned geographic territory. Cultivation requires some domestic travel to these areas as well as the implementation of e-recruitment techniques. Work closely with all constituents to strengthen vital relationships (faculty/administration, current parents, friends, feeder programs, and feeder schools). Plan special on- and off-site events for constituent development.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree (minimum), a strong sense of initiative and be able to function in a fast-paced environment that requires teamwork and independence. The successful candidate will possess a service-oriented, friendly and professional approach with an engaging demeanor, strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills. Candidates with an understanding and appreciation for the arts and their role in education are preferable, as well as those who have an understanding of a boarding school community and previous experience in enrollment management.
