Job Description

Interlochen Center for the Arts, one of America’s most prestigious institutions for arts education, performance and fine arts presentations, seeks a Human Resources Specialist for our busy HR Department.   We have two core educational programs: Interlochen Arts Camp, serving 2,700 students in grades 3-12, and Interlochen Arts Academy, the nation’s premiere fine arts boarding high school with an enrollment of 470-500. The HR Specialist - Recruitment will report to the Recruiting and Training Manager.  This position will be responsible for the year-round and summer application process, housing and interview scheduling.   

 

The HR Specialist-Recruitment will provide support and assistance to the Recruiting and Training manager in the area of recruitment and training for year round/academy and summer employees.  

  • Maintains listing of approved summer positions along with assigned salary levels.  

  • Works extensively in the summer employee applicant tracking system to track completed employee forms and employment agreements.  

  • Works along with the recruiting and Training Manager to continuously improve the applicant tracking system.

  • Provides biweekly hiring updates as necessary to hiring managers in person, phone or by email.

  • Oversees camp employee check-in and check out with assistance and support from other HR team members.  

  • Manages housing assignments for summer camp employees, faculty and year-round employees.  

  • Schedules on-campus interviews for candidates and manages application process and pre-employment forms.

  • Assists with recruiting and hiring process for year-round positions by coordinating job postings in ATS system and other posting websites, reviewing resumes, and assisting with phone screens and interviews.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Associates Degree preferably in Human Resources, Business or Management.

  • Experience as an Intern in an HR Department is a PLUS

  • Knowledge of MAC Operating System and Google Docs, Proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Superior verbal/written and presentation skills

  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills
