Interlochen Arts Camp
Young artists from around the world gather at Interlochen each summer to learn, create and perform alongside leading artists and instructors. Programs are offered to students in grades three through twelve.

Adult artists thrive on opportunities to learn and express themselves creatively. The College of Creative Arts offers programs in a variety of arts disciplines.

Streaming online at ipr.interlochen.org. Through two listener-supported broadcast services, Interlochen Public Radio (IPR) connects northwest Michigan with arts, news and culture on a global scale. IPR also gives significant focus to local and regional news, information and artists.
Interlochen brings dozens of world-renowned artists to northwest Michigan, enhancing the region’s position on the global arts map. Interlochen presents more than 600 events each year by students, faculty and guest artists, making Interlochen one of the nation’s largest arts presenters.
Interlochen Center for the Arts, one of America’s most prestigious institutions for arts education, performance and fine arts presentations, seeks a Communications Assistant for our Marketing and Communications Department. We have two core educational programs: Interlochen Arts Camp, serving 2,700 students in grades 3-12, and Interlochen Arts Academy, the nation’s premiere fine arts boarding high school with an enrollment of 470-500.
The Communications Assistant will contribute to the overall profile of Interlochen and strengthen Interlochen’s brand through promotional efforts for the Arts Academy, Arts Camp, College for Creative Arts, Interlochen Presents and Public Radio Services.
- Write copy for online and print communication efforts
- Assist with production of email and print publications
- Assist with print, radio and television advertising efforts
- Manage direct mail campaigns
- Schedule photo shoots and manage guest photographers
- Manage summer photo intern scheduling
- Manage office purchase orders
- Oversee concourse case updates
- Occasionally capture photo and video content
- Ensure a consistent, branded and inquiry-generating focus is applied to marketing and communication initiatives
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, English, writing, photography, videography, graphic design or a similar program and a minimum of two years experience. Strong writing and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, experience with common word processing, email, spreadsheet, and other office applications, ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously. Basic photography skills and a working knowledge of image and video formats a plus.
