Interlochen brings dozens of world-renowned artists to northwest Michigan, enhancing the region’s position on the global arts map. Interlochen presents more than 600 events each year by students, faculty and guest artists, making Interlochen one of the nation’s largest arts presenters.

Job Description

Interlochen Center for the Arts, one of America’s most prestigious institutions for arts education, performance and fine arts is seeking to hire a Corporate Sponsorship Manager. This position will raise financial support from businesses and organizations, primarily through IPR underwriting sales and arts festival sponsorships.

Major responsibilities will include the following:

  • Prospect, cultivate and solicit corporate underwriting support for Interlochen Public Radio/Media
  • Prospect, cultivate and solicit corporate sponsors for Interlochen performances and events
  • Enter sponsorship and underwriting contracts in the appropriate database, currently Salesforce and Allegiance; track status and solicit renewals
  • Work closely with IPR staff to record underwriting spots and ensure proper on-air placement
  • Ensure underwriting scripts are compliant with FCC guidelines
  • Maintain accurate database records and tracking reports
  • Work closely with Interlochen business office to ensure accurate billing
  • Work closely with other members of Advancement team to ensure good coordination of fund-raising efforts
  • Participate in local business networking events, including regional Chamber of Commerce
  • Business After Hours Gatherings
  • Assist with events to engage listeners and donors in the radio station
  • Assist with other Advancement events on and off campus as needed
A significant amount of time will be required meeting with and soliciting clients in the region.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree preferred, with a minimum of three years development experience and/or experience in broadcasting sales or related sales preferred. Ability to quickly master the demands of two database systems and other office industry standard software products required.

The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated, organized and entrepreneurial person. Position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, the skills to establish priorities, set objectives and achieve stated goals, and the ability to adapt to change. Superb organizational skills are necessary, and the ability to advance numerous complex projects simultaneously. Outstanding diplomacy, tact and judgment are necessary to build strong relationships with business professionals. Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable by our insurance carrier.
