Job Description

Internet Marketing Ninjas is seeking to hire a Systems Administrator for our desktop and large server environment.  To apply for this job you must work at our office in Clifton Park, New York.  If you have a passion for technology and are looking for a fun, fast paced place to work, then come join our growing team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Primary desktop administration including installation, troubleshooting, upgrades, backups, printers and general administration in an Ubuntu/Mac/Windows environment
  • Website administration including deployment, configuration, testing, monitoring and domain name management in a primarily LAMP environment, including internal, cloud based and shared hosting servers
  • Email administration including configuration, monitoring, and end-user management
  • General server support including user administration, upgrades, backups and patching in an Ubuntu/Windows environment
  • General technology support including coordination with the phone system vendor and other vendors as necessary
  • Inventory and move equipment such as servers, desktops, monitors and printers to and from storage and hosting facilities as required
  • Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation to support our always-on infrastructure
  • Willingness to research and educate self and others in new and emerging technologies in order to enhance our business operations

Qualifications

Ideal candidates have:

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a multi-vendor environment – Linux, Windows and/or Mac
  • Experience with Windows Server, including updating accounts, group policies and basic knowledge of Active Directory DNS and DHCP services
  • Strong experience with desktop support – Windows/Mac/Linux (Ubuntu) – including application troubleshooting, desktop builds, antivirus, backup management and patching
  • Strong experience with Linux, including basic system administration, patching, Samba, basic LAMP configuration and administration, including MySQL, and VPN technologies (preferably OpenVPN)
  • Experience with system management, including monitoring and backups
  • Experience with Electronic Mail administration, including DNS and email interaction, and preferably with experience in Postfix, Zimbra or another corporate email system
  • Firm understanding of configuring and administrating VPS hosting

Strongly Desired (these are not required, but would put you ahead if in combination with the above requirements). 

  • Familiarity with a configuration management tool, preferably Puppet
  • Experience with a network management tool, preferably Nagios
  • Prior knowledge of administrating and using BackupPC/CrashPlan
  • Experience with Jira or a ticket management system
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with UNIX scripting in Bash, Perl or other scripting languages

Additional Information

Other Requirements:

  • Prefer candidates with at least two years of experience in a systems administration/desktop support role
  • Prefer candidates with a college degree
