Job Description

As Sr. Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day general ledger accounting functions. The candidate should have demonstrated general accounting experience; be analytical with strong problem solving and technical skills; possess excellent communication and organizational skills; possess the ability to work with extreme accuracy under pressure; and demonstrate strong team building skills.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented with demonstrated problem solving and decision making skill.

 Job Duties:

  • Prepare period accruals and reconcile complex, high volume balance sheet accounts as part of the period close
  • Prepares general ledger journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, standard and specialized reports and audit schedules
  • Prepare financial footnote disclosures
  • Prepare detailed analytics and trend analyses
  • Provide accounting support to Financial Planning & Analysis team to be used in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and other projects
  • Work with Corporate Controller to document and implement procedures and policies to ensure internal control compliance
  • Participate in special projects such as accounting system changes/upgrades and process improvements
  • Mentor accounting staff to develop strong relationships with the broader business team
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics is required
  • CPA required
  • 3+ yrs. of general accounting at a mid to large-size company
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP required
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially MS Excel) required
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Proven track record of strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
