Job Description

Currently we are looking for a Quality Auditor II for our location in Woodbridge, VA. This position will focus on broad issues that govern quality at J.G.Wentworth Home Lending. The primary task will be to audit loan files to ensure all loans meet the standards established by the company, investors and regulators. You will also assist other auditors with pre-funding audit and other Compliance Department functions.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following job functions are not all-inclusive as the Auditor II may be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the supervisor. Job duties may change as required by needs of company.

  • Review file documentation to ensure that the loan file determination meets all regulatory and investor guidelines;
  • Validate loan application, disclosures, credit, liabilities, income, asset documentation, purchase contract, title, appraisal, and AUS findings;
  • Ability to write Audits
  • Review and investigate Red Flags, alleged misrepresentation, alleged fraudulent findings, signature irregularities, missing or incomplete documentation which potentially affects the salability of the loan;
  • Complete an audit summary of findings to included pertinent loan information, defects, inaccuracies, compliance concerns, Red Flags and possible misrepresentations;
  • Review any deficiencies requested by investor or third-party auditors and work to resolve issues;
  • May serve as an intermediary to resolve disputed matters;
  • Recommend standards, policies, and/or procedures to correct deficiencies;
  • Ensures identified risks and/or problems are clearly documented;
  • Other duties may include: project work to identify/implement process improvements, performance of ongoing reviews as needed. May generate reports and summarize results.

Qualifications

  • College degree in a related field or 4 years mortgage banking industry experience, preferably with audit or compliance experience;
  • Excellent written skills desired.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks with minimal to no errors;
  • Ability to perform any segment of Quality Control
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines in a high paced; environment with heavy volume of transactions meeting necessary deadlines;
  • Ability to work in both a team and individual environment;
  • Proficient computer knowledge including Encompass, MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Internet Explorer; Proficiency with Power Point highly desired.
  • Must be able to use independent judgment skills to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures; and
  • Knowledge of mortgage loan documents.
