What you’ll be doing…
As an Interior Designer II, you will complete space plans and programming documentation, site verification and site surveys, design development, prepare contract documents, technical interior architectural details, and selection/specification of finish materials and furniture. You will participate and at times lead client and internal project visioning and meetings, provide project administrative support (quality control, record keeping, drawing reproduction, submittal processing, etc.) and interface with consultants, contractors and regulatory agencies. You will support your project manager in ensuring the project meets budget and schedule expectations. You may work independently or as an active member of a multi-disciplinary project team. Your assignment might be dedicated to a single project, or to multiple smaller projects simultaneously. You will assist in managing client expectations & communications, and contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
Who you are…
Experienced. A minimum of five years of commercial interior design/architecture experience. You have a strong understanding of design principles and building codes/regulations. You have sound documentation and field observation skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required - Photoshop, Revit, SketchUp and three dimensional drawing skills are highly valued.
Creative. You contribute to the creative process by developing innovative solutions that enrich the commercial environment. You have the ability to interpret and incorporate abstract concepts into succinct and accurate drawings and details. You can easily synthesize multiple and/or conflicting requirements and problem solve to create outstanding design solutions.
Multi-tasker. You are able to juggle multiple projects, duties and tasks on a daily basis. You can take direction from a variety of sources (internal and external) and prioritize effectively to meet and exceed expectations and deliverables. You are careful, quick and efficient and your work is always thoughtful and of the highest quality.
Go-Getter. You have excellent time management and organizational skills, are proactive in pursuing information and ideas to quickly complete tasks with minimal direction. You are able to formulate sound and educated decisions based upon available and sometimes limited information, and often under pressure.
Strong communication and presentation skills. Your graphic and visualization skills are extremely strong, and you have ability to communicate design ideas tactfully with the project team. You are an effective communicator and presenter – both written and verbally. You have the ability to communicate professionally, concisely and effectively with peers, clients, and outside vendors.
Educated. Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture from an accredited school.
Salary commensurate with experience.
