Job Description
Key Goal
The Interior Architect/Designer intern will be responsible for designing interior office spaces for creative, digital companies taking into account latest design trends and clients evolving needs for the future workspace. She/he will be responsible for the execution of the projects from A to Z, by overseeing the quality, and logistics and timeline.
Duties & Responsibilities
Designing and drafting plans to create or refurbish spaces with the clients' tastes in mind and evolving needs for the future workspace
Be in line with the design trends and updates in design and furniture layouts
Meeting with clients and assisting with determination of project requirements, objectives and budgets.
Preparing and presenting design and branding proposals in a realistic 3D visualization to the client
Reviewing of contractors’ and suppliers’ quotations and preparing bill of quantities
Specifying the nature and quality of materials required which includes executional drawings
Helping to coordinate the work of contractors
Regular site visits to check on progress, ensuring that the project is running on time and to budget
Quality control tracking from start to handing over
Be in line with the legal regulations so their designs are up-to-code
Use computer drafting programs, such as computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), Photoshop and Google Sketch-up
Discussing the objectives, requirements and budget of a project and preparing and presenting feasibility reports and design proposals to the client
Producing detailed workings, drawings and specifications
Specifying the nature and quality of materials required
Preparing a visual for project concept
Preparing applications for planning and building control departments
Drawing up tender documents for contracts
Resolving problems and issues that arise during construction
Note: This is a 6-month internship, with the opportunity of a full-time position according to performance problem solving
Qualifications
Education & Experience
University degree in Interior Architecture or equivalent
0 to 3 years of experience in a similar role
Competencies & Skills
Creativity and imagination
Ability to visualize concepts and explain them to others
Wide exposure to buildings design and construction
Fluency in written / spoken English and Arabic
Professional computer literacy in MS Office applications and planning software, AutoCAD, MS project, Photoshop
Ability to deliver on agreed objectives/targets
Ability to take initiative and apply considerable ingenuity and practical knowledge
Team player, positive thinker, strong communication skills,
