Job Description

Responsible of researching current trends, crafting new product ideas, attending fittings, preparing color boards and assisting in all design related projects. Provide creative and practical support to the team, schedule and organize accordingly to ensure that projects get finished in time for meetings and seasonal sales, also function as assistant buyer for Studio Coordinator. Act as a liaison with distribution centers and communicate details with many teams and vendors.

·       Research and present global trends and designs (colors, styles, cuts, textiles, prints, accessories etc..)

·       Propose ideas and illustrations for new products and lines

·       Design and develop various lines such as ready-to-wear, couture, casual wear, accessories, bags, shoes etc…

·       Create new designs for special orders made to measure for direct clients

·       Work closely with and support the Studio Coordinator and Creative Director to bring their visions to life

·       Communicate with various fabric, print, and trim vendors

·       Develop and maintain an archive for all existing styles and style numbers

·       Maintain new and old production patterns

·       Create and keep up to date records of design line presentation boards

·       Manage garment production which involves: creating cutting tickets; communicating with sewing contractors, sample makers, and print vendors to clarify and negotiate turnaround times

·       Conceptualize, develop, and follow up on production patterns and sample making. Optimize the full concept of pattern production and sample making by modeling on a fit model

·       Handle ongoing vendor meetings for future and existing production. Also, manage various vendor meetings for future sample making

·       Design according to a fixed cost budget

·       Assist the Studio Coordinator with decision-making, for establishing budgets for new productions

·       Research and design new styles for various lines

·       Facilitate related business meetings

·       Search for the various vendors (production vendors, fabric sourcing vendors, embroidery workshops and artisans etc…)

·       Including all but not limited to all above mentioned tasks

Qualifications

·      Bachelor Degree in Arts or Fashion Design

·       Minimum 1-year experience in similar field (Fashion Design )
