Job Description

·         Prepare menus in collaboration with colleagues

·         Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the superiors to meet the standard and quality set by the management

·         Follows the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the daily tasks

·         Ensure adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations

·         Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times

·         Prepare ingredients that should be frequently available

·         Follow the guidance of the executive or sous chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes

·         Put effort in optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality

·         Enforce strict health and hygiene standards

·         Checks periodically expiry dates and proper storage of food items in the section

·         Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation

·         Ensure effective communication between staff by maintaining a secure and friendly working environment

·         Carry out any other duties as required by management

Qualifications

·         Proven experience in a Chef de Partie role

·         At least 3 years’ experience cooking in a well-established restaurant or full-service hotel and /or minimum of 1year in a supervisory role

·         Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes

·         Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure

·         Knowledge of best cooking practices

·         Any health and safety and food hygiene courses

·         Culinary school diploma
