Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for highly motivated law students to join KIPP DC’s Legal Team in the spring or summer. The Legal interns will support the Legal team for approximately ten weeks between June and August (summer).  Dates are flexible.

Legal Interns will have the opportunity to assist the Legal Team and work on a broad variety of projects  including Title IX, employment, corporate  governance, real estate, and education policy.  Additionally, Legal Interns will have the opportunity to engage with other senior staff through meetings, informational interviews, and skill-building workshops.  Legal Interns are a non-exempt position and will report to the Assistant General Counsel.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a J.D. program

  • Dedication to KIPP DC’s mission

  • Organized and detailed-orientated

  • Willingness to take initiative do whatever it takes to get the job done

  • Belief that no job is too big or too small

  • Willingness and desire to learn

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
