Job Description

Position Summary:
A Restoration Technician Lead should be able to ensure the proper completion of all phases of the emergency restoration job from paperwork through to completion. Due to the nature of the work, often the job sites will be dirty, possibly cold or wet and sometimes unsanitary. All attempts will be made to accommodate requests of workers exposed to these conditions. The work can be very challenging, fun and rewarding. A good attitude, strong work ethics, reliability, integrity, professionalism and a desire to help people in need are requirements for the job. Duties:
Leading the day-to-day restoration tasks as assigned by the Project Managers which may include, but is not restricted to, the following duties:

General Duties:
•    Participate where required in assessing the job and determining the scope of work
•    Assignment of tasks and directing the flow of work efficiently
•    Maintain a clean and safe work environment while ensuring efficiency and the overall care of the building and contents
•    Ensure high quality and service levels
•    Coach & mentor technicians on policies and procedures
•    Ensure that all personnel, sub-contractors, are following the company health and safety policies and procedures.
•    Provide team with regular feedback
•    Daily completion and tracking of job paperwork, timecards, checkout forms, vehicle records and other necessary paperwork with a high degree of accuracy
•    Being available for routine on call rotational emergency services and after-hours work.
•    Updating the appropriate parties on any changes in details of projects.
•    Customer Service!
•    Maintenance, cleaning and tracking inventory of equipment.
•    Vehicle general maintenance and cleaning.
•    Willing to roll up your sleeves and work alongside your team as required.
•    Operate company vehicles safely, courteously and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies
•    Demonstrate a positive, team-building attitude toward the work and the policies of the company.
•    To participate in demolition, remediation, cleaning, packing, moving and being responsible for maintaining a clean and safe job site.
•    Assistance with Contents and Cleaning services as required.
•    Develops and maintains strong relationships and acts as a liaison with policy holders, estimators and adjustors in order to maximize customer satisfaction; ensuring expectations are met in a timely manner with high quality service
•    Participate in CAT plans
•    Responsible for providing constructive feedback as to how the company can:
o    Provide better service
o    Improve efficiency
o    Improve the quality of the finished product.
•     Other duties as required

Water Damage Duties:
•    Water extraction and removal of water damaged materials.
•    Follow written procedures for emergency services.
•    Move affected contents.
•    Set up and monitor drying equipment.
•    Application of antimicrobial products.

Qualifications

Education, knowledge and experience required:
•    High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
•    Minimum 2 years of work experience in insurance restoration and/or construction
•    Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team building abilities
•    Ability to work safely in a construction environment
•    Results-oriented individual with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and time lines
•    Knowledge of OH&S regulations and related building codes
•    Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
•    Must possess a valid Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a clean drivers abstract.
•    Must be able to complete a successful criminal background check.
•    Insurance, Commercial Experience or IICRC Certifications are considered an asset
•    Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.


Physical requirements:
•    Must lift heavy items up to 50lbs on a routine basis.
•    The workspace may be contaminated with heavy smoke residue, mould and mildew, contaminated water or other unsanitary conditions. Protective gear is available for use and is required on some heavily contaminated work sites.
 
Position requirements:
•    To report for work with CSA approved safety footwear and to wear this footwear at all times.
•    Must be inoculated against Tetanus and Hepatitis A & B.
•    To attend and actively participate in on-going training and certification as needed and to make every effort to attempt to pass any exams that may be required.
