Houston Public Radio's News Station — KUHF News is the trusted source for independent, thoughtful and in-depth news. KUHF offers international, national, regional and local coverage from the KUHF Newsroom, NPR, the BBC, and American Public Media. As other media outlets narrow their scope and reduce local coverage, we expand the breadth of local news and give voice to multiple perspectives. We know that local news and content informs, engages, and draws a community together.
KUHF digital interns observe how digital works within the newsroom, including the website, social media and visual media. Candidates for the internship should have strong digital base and be able to work independently. There may be an opportunity to help re-design a program website.
Interns typically come in two full days a week, but the schedule is adaptable. The position is unpaid.
KUHF accepts internship applications for the spring, summer, and fall sessions. To apply, please send your resume and a cover letter. Important information to include may be where you go to school or currently work, what you study or what fields you have worked in, why you're interested in public media—and anything else you think would be important for us to know about you at first glance. Please submit a digital portfolio or website url.
Candidates should “specialize” in one of the following mediums: data, photography, videography, and web design.
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
