My client, a well known and respected top 15 CPA firm is looking for a Sr. Tax Manager for its NYC location.  The firm, a wonderful alternative to the Big 4 due to its outstanding resources, combined with its quality of life, is looking for a Sr. Manager for their growing Financial Services group.  

The candidate must have at least 8+ yrs working with FS clients, specifically private equity and hedge funds.

MUST have strong technical skills

The candidate will - 

Identify and capitalize upon opportunities to expand and develop business relationships with existing clients.  Partner with clients to anticipate future needs

·         Identify opportunities for new business relationships in this market

·         Supervise staff in the preparation of partnership returns for hedge funds and private equity funds

·         Review partnership returns for hedge funds and private equity funds

·          Research and advise clients regarding complex tax situations

·         Strong working knowledge of foreign reporting and compliance issues including U.S. withholding, PFICs, blocker corporations, effectively connected income

·         Strong working knowledge of tax issues effecting hedge funds and private equity funds including: trader versus investor status, market to market elections, tax treatment of Section 988 transactions, regulated futures contracts and other financial products and instruments

·         Review limited partner and general partner income allocations

·         Committed to delivering great service including adherence to filing deadlines, client internal timeline for issuing K-1’s

·         Staying current on industry developments such as treatment of carried interests, FACTA reporting requirements, etc.

·         Strong working knowledge of excel and interfacing with tax software
