Job Description

Knight & Gayles In-Home Care.

We seek genuine caring individuals to provide advance personal care to elderly and disabled person in the Saint Louis and Saint Charles metro area. Services may also include assisting with activities of daily living: cleaning, bathing, medication set-up, cooking, grooming, errands and range of motion exercises.

Routine duties include:

  • Performing tasks as necessary to support client needs/wants.
  • Walking with client, reading, and providing companionship.
  • Preparing meals and/or assist with feeding.
  • Performing laundry tasks: washing / drying / mending / ironing.
  • Perform house keeping services and tasks as required.
  • Assisting clients who have been recently discharged with recovery.
  • Respite care to allow caregiver relief.  
  • Other duties and assistance as documented in clients care plan.

Additional Duties Include:

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to client, family, supervisor, and other health care team members.

  • Assure documentation is legible and accurate.
  • Developing genuine relationships with client and family within established professional boundaries. 
  • Inform client/family members of care provided or potential issues.
  • Observe, report, and document any physical, behavioral or living environment changes with the client.
  • Completes all appropriate reports and documentation. 
  • Reports to supervisor changes in nutrition, living environment and or family concerns.
  • Adheres to all KGHC standards, policies, procedures and guidelines

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21
  • Must have High School diploma; college degree/certification preferred
  • Current First Aid / CPR certification.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills; English is mandatory.
  • Second language a plus!
  • Access to internet and up to date computer or tablet.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Ability to apply proper lifting techniques. 
  • Must have drivers license and reliable transportation
  • No criminal background. 
  • Registered with Missouri Family Safety Care Registry.
  • Clean driving (DMV) record
  • One year professional care giving experience or equivalent training.
