Job Description

The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and driving a content marketing strategy that generates brand awareness, builds and engages with KontrolFreek’s audience and promotes KontrolFreek products. The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for ideating, developing, procuring, curating and managing, KontrolFreek-branded content. This individual should be an expert in content and channel optimization, establishing brand tone and voice, audience segmentation, analytics and measurement. This role requires a publisher mindset to create the content the audience is seeking and then optimize the path to conversion. The ideal Content Marketing Manager will be a clear, confident communicator, possess a high level of creativity and great attention to detail. The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter with 3-5 years of relevant experience who is comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Content Marketing Manager reports to the Vice President of Marketing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Map out a content strategy that supports and extends KontrolFreek’s brand presence and marketing initiatives  
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for specific channels such as YouTube and Twitch
  • Create standards, systems, and best practices for content creation, distribution, management and maintenance
  • Lead collaborative ideation sessions for new content campaigns 
  • Work with external content creators to create branded high quality content
  • Grow audience by providing relevant content that’s aligned with the brand positioning and marketing objectives
  • Write, edit and/or produce audio, video and live streaming content
  • Explore new ways to engage and identify new audiences as well as the target audience 
  • Monitor and report on content marketing metrics while continuously optimizing for success
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Follow trends in the gaming, tech and consumer industries 
  • Some travel might be required on an as-needed basis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in similar role 
  • Past experience producing web content, as well as channel-specific knowledge on YouTube and Twitch 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and relationship skills 
  • Experience with SEO 
  • Demonstrated success in managing marketing campaigns 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fluid, fast-paced team environment while meeting critical deadlines
  • Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills 
  • Knowledge of gaming industry or video games required
  • Ability to identify market trends
  • Experience using analytics and data to make decisions and optimize user experience
