Job Description

La Tienda has an immediate opening for a IT Support Technician (ITST) to assist the IT manager in performing effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software. The ITST ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. This position reports to Manager, IT (MIT).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides employees with network technical support.

2. Installs new/rebuild existing servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

3. Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

4. Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.

5. Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts per request.

6. Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures. Coordinates and communicates with the lead IT Assistant ensuring users are properly notified.

7. Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. 

8. Assists in the timely resolution of production interruptions.

9. Assembles, maintains, and troubleshoots office equipment.

10. Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources.

11. Assists with software implementation and troubleshooting.

OTHER DUTIES

1. Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

1. An Associate’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience or a combination of education and relevant work experience equal to four or more years. BA/BS preferred.

2. Must have an in depth knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking and systems management experience. SQL experience is a plus.

3. Must be detail oriented, be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

5. Excellent analytic and problem solving skills are a must.

6. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact with other employees, outside IT consultants, software and hardware vendors.

7. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs., which includes repetitive movement.

8. Must work well under pressure, excellent organizational abilities, set and meet deadlines, be able to manage several priorities in a day; must be adaptable, creative and self-motivated.

9. Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information is a must.


Additional Information

Under Tienda's compensation structure, this position is in the Information Technology Job Family at the Coordinator/Lead Assistant level. Starting salary is commensurate with experience. This is an non-exempt position. This position is eligible for benefits which include health and dental insurance, Simple IRA plan, life insurance and paid time off.
