Job Description

As a Help Desk Administrator with Locus Robotics, you will work with all company groups to maintain systems, install upgrades and manage hardware requirements, network performance and general IT administration duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the day-to-day operations of host and end user computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
  • Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained and respond to all internal help desk tickets in a timely manner.
  • Assist in developing new system and application implementation plans and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
  • Perform troubleshooting as required. Lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
  • Establish, maintain and manage end-user accounts. Install, modify and maintain systems and utility software on server computer systems. Provide server support related to other software.
  • Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
  • Enforce procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse.
  • Assist in developing procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications.
  • Monitor the data center and computer host systems including hardware, software and equipment such as air-conditioning system, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in Help Desk or Systems Support role.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange server and/or Office 365
  • Exposure to Linux System Administration
  • Strong basic networking knowledge and experience (VLAN, DNS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools.
  • Ability to communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing.
  • Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Network Support, CIS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
