Job Description

Locus Robotics is searching for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Group within our Robotics Software Team. The platform group is responsible for developing tools and systems that keep our fleet running smoothly 24/7. This group also enables the rest of the team to painlessly develop robotics applications by solving challenges in the underlying Linux operating system and application middleware.

This role can be remote, or onsite or hybrid at either our Wilmington, MA or Amsterdam, NL offices. We are also open to hiring anyone remotely based out of Canada or the EU. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain cloud-based and on-premises tools and infrastructure for robot fleet deployment, operation, and monitoring.

  • Contribute to the design of a field-configurable and maintainable robot fleet.

  • Work cross-functionally within the engineering group on a variety of projects related to systems and infrastructure automation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of application development experience with Python or another programming language, including shipping to production.

  • Proficiency with tooling in the Linux ecosystem, including packaging and deployment.

  • Familiarity with ROS is a plus, but no robotics experience is required.

  • Experience with leveraging cloud services to develop infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of best practices in development of infrastructure-as-code.

  • Experience with configuration management and provisioning tools.
