Job Description

Position Purpose

The Business Development Associate is responsible for researching new client prospects, calling new client prospects, and setting appointments in order to contribute to extraordinary company growth and profitability.


Reports To

Sales Manager.


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (What is done and why in order of importance)

  1. Responsible for prospecting, researching and generating qualified leads to schedule exploratory calls with Sales Staff in order to meet company's sales goals
  2. Meet or exceed predefined calling and scheduling metrics in order to achieve personal success and contribute to company's annual revenue goals.
  3. Learn and understand the market research industry, Luth's business and sales processes to obtain knowledge for improving conversion of cold calls into qualified exploratory calls.
  4. Maintain accurate, real time Goldmine reporting for accountable record keeping for client contacts, number of clients, and tracking of client leads and contacts for a maximum knowledge and growth of client base within Goldmine.
  5. Deliver a consistent message by using scripts and related materials that is in line with the Perficency process to deliver a consistent message to potential clients
  6. Complete assigned administrative tasks regarding the research and compilation of lists to support the business development efforts of the Sales team.
  7. Any other tasks and projects as assigned by management

Accessibility: Must be able to access and functions within areas key to productivity. Adequate manual dexterity to operate assigned and sheared office equipment. Ability to travel on periodic overnight and extended stays, and work extended hours when necessary.

Communications: Must speak clearly and fluently to communicate on a w wide range of topics. Above average reading comprehension and grammatically correct written communications skills. Must have the ability to understand and respond intelligently to business correspondence. Interpersonal skills as needed to persuade, manage conflict, debate and negotiate. Response to pressure should be clam and reasonable.

Technical: Must demonstrate a high proficiency in understanding and working with basic software and computer skills, to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Judgement: Comprehension of your job requirements and procedures. Can initiate and perform work assignments under minimal supervision that may be broad, varied, and complex in nature. Employee must have the ability to use educated and intuitive judgement to make decisions.

Flexibility: Must be able to work in a shifting environment with ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.

Analysis: Mathematical aptitude; use of numeric calculations for accuracy of reports and tasks and  demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.

Organization: Organizational and time management skills sufficient to plan and accomplish assigned tasks.

Logic: Deductive reasoning ability to enable the appropriate applications of general concepts to specific situations. Able to translate theory into business practices. Employee must apply experience, skills and information to identify problems and plan strategic resolutions.

Work Ethics: Must be willing to work hard, be dependable and responsible, possess a positive attitude and maintain a sense of honesty and integrity.

Education:

  • BS Degree or equivalent work related experience

  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work some nights and weekends
