Job Description

Lyst is looking for a Fashion Insights Director to define and execute the merchandising and curation strategy for the company globally. The right candidate will have detailed knowledge of the fashion consumer, trends, upcoming brands and key products for each season, across the luxury, contemporary and high-street segments. Reporting into the CMO, the Fashion Insights Director will be responsible for the curation of ‘lysts’ aimed at driving product discovery for our millions of customers, coupled with key commercial goals. They will also be a central stakeholder in defining how products are visually merchandised across our sites and app. This entrepreneurial and highly-driven person will have a passion for the fashion digital landscape and a drive to concept, create and deliver a world class strategy that resonates with the fashion consumer globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the fashion merchandising and curation vision for Lyst in each of its key markets, focussing on the US and UK initially.
  • Translate the vision into a strategy and deliver it, hitting defined commercial metrics.
  • Once the foundations are in place, build and lead a team to scale delivery of the strategy.
  • Create and curate ‘lysts’ of items for our customers around the world. Grow and nurture a stable of key influencers/contributors who can contribute.
  • Select the best items coming in from our partners every day, to share with each of our customer segments.
  • Be responsible for Lyst’s homepage fashion content - overseeing all curated feeds, category and brand highlight selections.
  • Work closely with Partnerships and Brand teams on appropriate brand alignment and partner marketing support.
  • Provide direction on brands and product mix for regular social and brand image shoots/creative
  • Deliver exceptional unique content that resonates with fashion consumers across different price points and aesthetics , encouraging their habitual return and sharing behaviours.
  • Work closely with the Editorial Director and Brand Image Director to deliver a consistent voice and visual aesthetic, and with the Acquisition team to deliver against revenue targets.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to support on campaigns, and with the Partnerships team to delight current and prospective partners.
  • Be a visible ambassador for the Lyst brand.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in fashion merchandising, buying and/or direction, in a commercial environment ideally.
  • A deep understanding of the fashion landscape and the consumer across different price points, with a keen understanding of ecommerce and the fashion tech space.
  • Proven leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members at all levels.
  • High levels of content creativity, combined with an understanding or broad awareness of performance marketing strategy
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on setting and delivering measurable KPIs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a broad network across the global fashion and editorial community.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive and tenacious spirit - highly self-motivated and autonomous.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented, dynamic start-up environment.
