Job Description

Job Summary

 

The production department is heading into time of large scale change, development and growth as a result we are looking for someone to join the team in this newly created position. The role will report directly to the Head of Global Production (who sits on the Executive Board) and whilst based in London (Wardour Street) will work across all the Global Production departments at MPC Film.

 

The Production department delivers the strategy within each of the MPC Film facilities (London, Vancouver, Montreal, Bangalore and LA) and at a global level and as such sits as the central control for all show deliveries. Our main objectives are to plan, organise and communicate show production schedules by delivering projects on time and within budget.

 

Initially for 18-24 months, this role will organise the Production Departments strategic work streams and will be required to support the Global Head of Production in defining, scoping, planning and implementing the departments transformation plans for the coming years. The role will require someone who can report and present at Executive level, work with the operational Heads of Production, whilst also being able to work with all other levels within the Production department and wider business departments to deliver consistency and standardisation across all facilities.

 

Responsibilities

 

·       Work and collaborate with the teams to ensure documentation, supporting materials and plans are updated and readily available for our internal teams as well as senior leaders

·       Create dashboards and project plans, which outline both activities and work stream programs ‘in flight’ and plan and prioritise future deliverables in line with the departments and wider overall business objectives

·       Prioritise tasks, set deadlines and assign accountability to various deliverables

·       Make sure information is readily accessible; with the objective to enable senior leaders to quickly see where attention and resources are currently being placed, and where they need to adjust their workflows accordingly

·       Be able to draw on previous experience of being able to identify, propose and create business tools to develop and enhance current processes and activities

·       Be able to lead workshops for the development of process maps where not available and create structures for review, sign-off, implementation and ongoing future review

·       Implement, document and communicate new procedures and process (standard operating procedures) companywide using existing of new methods of communication

·       Be able to support the creation of department objectives and KPIs to enable the management, monitoring and where required issue escalation channels

·       Have demonstrable experience in running and managing a programme or project office

·       Be able to develop programme and project business cases including detailed cost benefit analysis

·       Experience of Detailed Programme and Project planning and Risk Management

·       Experience of using stakeholder management tools and delivering effective communications through a variety of channels

·       Experience of developing and using a range of Resource management tools to manage and monitor project and programme resources

·       Understanding of full project lifecycle using Project Management tools and techniques

·       Highly analytical mind with a strong attention to detail

·       Able to manage and lead multiple complex projects independently or as part of a team

·       Ability to work with cross functional groups and establish rapport and credibility at all levels

·       Excellent analytical, verbal and written presentation and communication skills

·       Highly capable of influencing others at all levels and being able to listen to their insights and experience to develop a balanced approach to new proposals

·       Confident in delivery of logical reasoning and being able to present business cases and recommendations at all levels

·       Results-driven, with a focus and desire to impact change

·       Experienced in PMO change management, risks and issues management, implementation and ongoing adherence to change delivery management

·       Flexible and readily adaptable to change

·       Able to work in a faced paced, pressured environment within tight timelines

·       Strong sense of initiative with the ability to think independently, and the confidence to question things constructively

·       Being receptive to current culture and ways of working within the business, able to lead and manage a diverse number of personalities and viewpoints; the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others is vital

 

·       A background in change management consulting is highly desirable

·       Educated to degree level is desirable but not essential

·       A background in the VFX industry is not a requirement

 

 

Technology:

 

·       Experienced in the use of all Microsoft Office Applications (advanced in Excel and PowerPoint)

·       Experience in Microsoft Visio, Power BI, Teams and OneNote is desirable

·       Experience in computer and telecommunication systems (across different platforms and networks), and how to get the best out of them to share and prioritise information

 

 

Progression and Longer-Term Objectives:

 

·       The position will initially be focused for the first 18-24 months within MPC Film

·       Longer term there will continue to be global opportunities for development of the role plus a wider remit within the business and Technicolor’s other business units
