Technicolor Academy is a global learning and development department supporting visual effects talent ready to step into a career in the industry.
The Academy's mission is to develop, nurture and grow computer graphics artists’ skills and abilities, and prepare them for a role at one of Technicolor’s world-class film and episodic content VFX studios, which include MPC Film, Mill Film, Mr. X, and Mikros.
Training is provided by some of the industry’s most experienced VFX professionals using a blended combination of workshops, master classes and online training, offering a unique learning pathway and career inspiration for aspiring artists.
This role will support the delivery of the global L&D Strategy and manage our creative academies across all disciplines.
The Academy Manager(AM) will be working with the Head of Learning & Development, the Learning Leads, as well as the key members of the global Learning and Development team. The AM will be managing the day-to-day activities of the Academies. It is important this person be resilient, proactive and knows how to work cohesively as part of the bigger picture. A personable nature who knows how to be diplomatic and motivate team members.
The following tasks provide a general overview of the types of activity the role holder will be expected to engage in on a day-to-day basis. The tasks are not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities as the nature of our business requires all employees to be flexible, self-motivated and to think creatively when presented with challenges.
§ Work closely with HoL&D to ensure efficiency and quality of the Academies
§ Manage and monitor trainers and trainees throughout their Academy life cycle and meet with Learning Leads to monitor performance
§ Work with coordinators to ensure smooth run of all Academies
§ Complete reports and take part in regular communication plans with L&D team
§ Building relationships and managing stakeholders
§ Working with local resource team within each studio, confirm graduate numbers and support HR in the transitions of graduates from creative academies.
§ Initiate and supervise educational experiences for partners including Show & Tell sessions
§ Meet with Diversity Committee members about initiatives/activities in support of diversity & inclusion
§ Passionate about Learning & Development
§ Experience within a deadline driven creative environment
§ Experience in a supervisory or managerial role
§ Clear confidant communicator
§ Adept in skillfully juggling tasks
§ Organized and focused
§ 5+ years of relevant experience.
