Job Description

The “go-to” person in the department for all things product. Liaises with the Design, Production and Sales Teams to support a seamless process of product development and sale. Maintains organized records of product and production history. Analyzes both the Marc Jacobs handbag business and the designer handbag competitive marketplace in order to inform strategy and plans for Collection Accessories business.

Product Information & Record-Keeping

  • Maintains Product Database, updated costing information from Production Team and records of seasonal product development (quadrettis, photographs of protos, etc.)
  • Updates TXT and AX systems


Market Support

  • Creates and updates line sheets, including management of photography
  • Supports pricing of line in all currencies
  • Manages market logistics (sample shipments, showroom reservations, schedules product presentation, etc.)
  • Creates Cut & Sold, Production Order and Press Sample Order
  • Conducts comprehensive bookings analysis for multiple constituencies (Design Team, regions, etc.)
  • Supports GCS in creation of Product Knowledge materials


Design Input

  • Creates seasonal Brief for Design Team
  • Offers input into design process based on selling, bookings and regional feedback


Quality & After Sales Service

  • Collects product care information from Production Team and creates all product care materials
  • Maintains database of quality and repair issues to share with Production Team
  • Sends ad hoc quality updates to regions


On-Going Analysis

  • Collates and analyzes MJ global sales
  • Expert on competitive marketplace globally (researches trends, brand positioning, other brands’ offerings, etc.)
  • Conducts seasonal pricing analysis to inform global pricing strategy


General Support

  • Point person in NY for Design and Production Teams
  • Special projects for department (e.g. handbag weight competitive analysis)
  • Provides administrative assistance to General Manager


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Computer skills:  Power Point, Excel
