Job Description

To help support our continued growth, Mariner Innovations is recruiting for an AS/400 Mainframe Support Analyst (term opportunity). In this role, you will play a key role in preventing and resolving production disruptions, manage risk, improve support effectiveness and continually improve technical processes. You will foster and maintain close working relationships with various client stakeholders to analyze and support business application requirements.  You will be a key member of our IT Professional Services team and, in collaboration with our delivery and sales teams, you will deliver best of breed solutions to new and existing customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical trouble-shooter across the Finance IT application portfolio to ensure accurate and timely resolution of incidents
  • Manage and Resolve production incidents raised by Application users
  • Actively monitor application incident queues and liaise with assigned analyst on incident status to ensure there is progress in incident resolution
  • Carry out routine system checks to proactively catch any potential issues.
  • Manage technical upgrades - plan, coordinate with interfacing teams, review test plans and deployment plans

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ IT industry experience with AS400, Mainframe
  • Experience in a multi-technology environment in production support
  • Experience with development and testing using technologies like RPG, UNIX scripts, Oracle, SQL Server
  • Experience with data sourcing, ETL and data integration
  • Debugging skills including application related problems on AS400
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents
  • Strong communication and Interpersonal skills in order to provide status updates to business and IT management

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with Unix and Linux platforms
  • Experience with code versioning tools like BitBucket and DevOps pipeline
  • Familiarity with Agile, Kanban methodology and Continuous Improvement
  • ITS process awareness (ITIL)
  • Financial industry experience
