Job Description

As an Educational Travel Specialist, generate new accounts in the student educational travel industry via telemarketing and face-to-face account selling. Implement the company's superior selling system to further ensure that the company's high quality programs are the only choice in educational travel for teachers, administrators, students and parents. This position reports to the Sales Director.


This position is home-based, with two weeks of initial on-site training. After training, employees will report to the office for training twice a year for a few days.


Qualified candidates will be required to complete an online assessment. Essential Job Functions:


• Utilize in-house resources to research potential new customers 

• Contact potential customers by telephone; field incoming inquiries - Describe the company and its services - Recommend specific tour packages - Provide clear and accurate information on tour prices and inclusions 

• Maintain ongoing contact with potential customers by phone and mail 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date computer records and documentation on all customer data, telephone contact, price quotes and written correspondence 

• Travel overnight to attend conventions 

• Visit potential customers in person 

• Participate in calling campaigns and other initiatives 

• Generate spring sales 

• Help to service sold accounts 

• Participate in special projects as needed 

• Attend and contribute to regular department meetings 

• Additional responsibilities may be assigned

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:


• High school degree or equivalent; college degree preferred 

• Excellent telephone skills 

• 2 years sales/customer service/retail/K-12 teaching experience 

• CRM experience 

• Able travel and drive an automobile 

• Only local candidates or candidates willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered for this position 


PREFERRED: 

• Some proofreading/editing experience
