Job Description

We are hiring a full-time Sourcing Support Manager to work in the Sourcing Operations group of Medpricer. This specific position is being filled to provide full-time on-site support for one of Medpricer’s most prestigious Health System customers. The position will require the applicant to work directly in the Corporate Supply Chain offices of the Customer, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Sourcing Support Manager's core responsibility is to assist in key areas of Medpricer’s sourcing engagements with this Customer, to ensure the overall success of each sourcing initiative.

The specific responsibilities include:

  • Project Identification: Resource will investigate potential cost-savings opportunities through research including but not limited to: existing contract review, meetings/interviews with stakeholders/end-users, review and analyze available data including invoices. The intent is to locate categories that can be sourced by Medpricer and Customer, which can result in lower costs, improved service levels, and supplier standardization across the health system.
  • Vendor Implementation Support: Customer is responsible to implement new contracts across the Health System, after category award and contract execution. This resource will assist Customer in this implementation process through a variety of tasks including: scheduling joint Vendor/Customer meetings, communicating with facility-specific stakeholders, supporting timeline management and vendor follow-up, and tracking progress across facilities.
  • Post-Implementation Savings Audit: This resource is responsible for working with newly awarded Vendors to understand when implementation completes at each facility and what the final agreed upon service levels/goods are, including the final cost structure and anticipated annual costs to formally track project savings. This resource will track all of the above, through communication with the vendor and stakeholders. This resource will develop an analysis per project that demonstrates the final estimated annual category savings by facility.
  • Contract Database Build: This resource will assist Customer in developing processes that will establish an accurate master contract database. This database should include all Customer/Vendor contracts and all corresponding addendums.

In addition to the above stated responsibilities, the Sourcing Support Manager may be asked to assist in other areas related to Medpricer’s sourcing processes and areas related to ensuring the success of newly awarded contracts for Customer. Further, the Sourcing Support Manager will work directly with Customer in evaluating existing Supply Chain and Sourcing processes, identify areas for process improvement, work together to develop improved processes, and assist in the implementation of these newly defined process across the Supply Chain department.

In this role, the Sourcing Support Manager will work, on a daily basis, with Customer’s Sourcing Directors, Customer’s Facility-specific Stakeholders, Customer’s Finance Department, and Medpricer’s Strategic Sourcing Managers, to ensure the success of all core responsibilities.

The Sourcing Support Manager should have familiarity with data analysis (excel skills a must), contract evaluation, stakeholder communication/needs assessment, request for proposal comprehension, and presentations to both external clients and internal colleagues. Exceptional analytical skills (attention to detail), clear communication, and the ability to work well in a team oriented environment are critical to succeeding in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree at a minimum
  • Extensive experience with business applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to provide complex financial/cost analysis
  • General sourcing experience preferred
  • General supply chain experienced preferred
  • Vendor management experience preferred
  • Healthcare experience not required, but beneficial
  • Ability to work on-site at Customer’s Corporate Supply Chain office located in Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Ability to travel to specific Customer Hospitals, if and when required, and travel to Medpricer’s Corporate Office for various training and learning sessions throughout employment
  • Highly motivated self-starter and a willingness to learn new things at a growing company
