Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain a strong knowledge of consumer goods with a twinkle in your eye for end of life (EOL), slow or obsolete (SLOB) inventory
Continuously cultivate relationships with top decision makers at key manufacturers
Collaborate with sales to highlight opportunities and drive revenue
Maintain healthy gross profit and inventory ratios by developing and executing an inventory strategy via all of Mediocre’s sales channels (GMROI)
Surpass financial objectives by developing strategic purchasing plans
Utilize Mediocre systems to document, control and communicate business opportunities and flow.
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2–3 years previous experience in a sales or retail management
Beneficial platform knowledge: Salesforce, Mac OS, Slack, Google Docs, expert web search techniques
Strong detail orientation, follow-through, analytical skills (retail math) and problem-solving abilities
Proficient computer skills with the demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs quickly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion to drive business
Exceptional references are a must
Studies market prices and trends, to identify inventory opportunities by category, manufacturer or liquidation channel.
Research, screen and develop a portfolio of direct purchasing relationships that will deliver gross profit opportunities for retail, wholesale and fulfillment
Initiates purchase orders; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required
Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management; negotiates best prices, payment and delivery terms with guidance from managers for assigned responsibilities.
Coordinates the planning of recent purchase with retail, wholesale and fulfillment to ensure maximum exposure and sell-fthrough.
