Job Description

SOLUTION DESIGN INTERN, 
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

Availability: As soon as possible
Experience: No experience required
Compensation: $12/hour
Location: Uptown
Travel: Little to None
Hours: 20-40 hours/week (our offices are open 8am-5pm, M-F)

 
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a solution design intern, you will be responsible for upholding not only MentorMate's high standards, but also those of our clients. You will be involved in different aspects of the software design and definition processes, from asking intelligent questions and creating software wireframes to researching technologies and approaches for software development.  This is a fantastic opportunity for students that bridges technology and business who are looking for real world experience in a fast paced environment, doing work that will be seen and used by real companies.  
Specific tasks will include wireframing using tools similar to Balsamiq or Moqups, perform technical research regarding the availability and feasability of APIs, and looking for opportunities to expand and improve software solutions based on industry best practifces (such as Facebook, Fitbit, etc). Additional tasks will include competitive research for mobile applications, and many other tasks.

Software development expertise is not required, but through hard work, it is guaranteed.

Qualifications

  • Passion for technology (mobile and web applications)
  • Technology fundamentals (Should be familiar with smartphone platforms and innovation in our sector)
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Appetite to work and grow in a fast-paced environment
