Job Description

We have pent up demand for a Writer/Content Strategist who can translate our exceptional work into engaging, sharable, and searchable content. In this role, you will be responsible for both writing (80%) and strategy (20%), working closely with our digital marketing team to optimize our web sites and social media presence. You will also produce research, guides and templates that appeal to our target markets, working closely with internal and external thought leaders.  

A successful content marketing strategy at MentorMate will include: content planning, messaging and branding, content creation, curation, and delivery. This includes driving content across multiple platforms and formats to drive awareness, engagement, leads, successful client projects and client retention. You should have experience with B2B content and channel optimization, storytelling, segmentation, and analytics.  

Responsibilities

  • Professional writing (white papers, case studies, business and client presentations)
  • Marketing writing (web, email, brochures, online and print advertising)
  • Content and message creation for our blogs, webinars, and CTAs
  • Content management including editorial planning, calendars and standards
  • Becoming a key internal expert on existing and emerging trends in the mobile and digital markets, along with key verticals (healthcare, financial services, etc.)
  • Working with and holding accountable our internal thought leaders who have responsibility for informing blogs, conference presentations, articles and research
  • Strategizing with our conference team to ensure we are aligning key messages between both our MentorMate and MobCon brands
  • Periodic client work to include writing and content strategy for their digital marketing programs

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of digital content strategy experience and 7 years as a writer for an agency or digitally-focused company
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Marketing or similar field
  • Must be a power writer with the ability to write a wide variety of materials quickly and accurately - including white papers, web and marketing copy, articles, blogs, research, presentations, executive scripts and more
  • Ability to be flexible in a very fluid and dynamic environment - including dealing with changing processes and priorities
  • Must be extremely well-organized, capable of handling multiple details simultaneously, and able to easily move between strategic and tactical work.
  • Familiarity with Search Engine Marketing and Optimization strategies
  • Familiarity with content management systems
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and ownership
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Conversant and comfortable with principles of digital design, writing and editing
