MentorMate is seeking a full-time Front-end Web Developer to join our Minneapolis marketing team. If you are a skilled web developer with a strong eye for design we want to hear from you! You must have extensive experience working with WordPress, a strong understanding of web standards and best practices, and excellent HTML and CSS skills. In this role you will spend approximately 25% of your time on client-facing projects; the remainder will be spent supporting and further developing MentorMate web properties including mentormate.com & mobcon.com. An understanding of digital marketing will be necessary to translate business goals into well-designed and optimized web pages.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the creative team on website designs
• Work with the marketing team and clients to build mobile-friendly websites
• Design and implement new features, enhancements, and content for existing websites
• Test and troubleshoot websites on multiple browsers and platforms
• Integrate website functions with third party software and APIs
• Maintain and update website technologies
• Facilitate client training, site documentation and maintenance

Required skills:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• Strong communications skills
• 2+ years experience in web development and web design
• Strong knowledge of WordPress
• knowledge of web development languages (including HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript)
• Fundamentals of web/user design and familiarity with responsive design
• Understanding of web standards and best practices

Desired:

• Familiarity with video for web
• Familiarity with SEO and SEM
• Familiarity with A/B testing and conversion optimization
• Experience with e-commerce
