Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced conference content or conference programming professional. In this role you will be responsible for designing conference programs and identifying and recruiting the biggest and brightest thought leaders in industry for MobCon conferences. 

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in events, content development, curriculum development, corporate communications or public relations. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in market research, communications/PR, event management or other relevant field preferred or commensurate experience.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills.
  • Strong verbal communications skills and comfort level discussing event objectives on the phone and in-person. Ability to work with speakers who often need direction and support to meet our objectives.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to create own deadlines, keep projects moving and generate momentum for other staff and departments and with speakers.
  • Willingness to become a subject matter expert, immersing him or herself in trends relevant to technology and related industries as needed.
  • Commitment to spend as much time as needed to conduct research, watch sessions, assess speaker value and competency, and read about trends, competitive events and other sources of information.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills, with ability to successfully manage multiple projects with varying deadlines simultaneously and comfort level managing on-site programs when needed.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Capacity to work independently and with a tight-knit team while under pressure


Additional Information

The Conference Programming Manager will help design new conference concepts based on market research, which he/she will conduct. In addition, this role has responsibility for speaker procurement for MobCon and MentorMate events which will also include webinars, open houses, external conference presentations, and workshops. Our offices in Europe offer hands-on courses to aspiring developers through our MentorAcademy brand - this role will be instrumental is growing that brand and related offerings here in the US.

Our long-term plans are to expand MobCon beyond conferences to other forms of education and with this in mind, we are looking for someone who has a passion for curriculum design, thought leadership, or instructional design. You should have experience not just hiring speakers but determining competencies and outcomes, and you should be able to identify underserved market opportunities where we can establish thought leadership and competitive advantage.  

You are a lifelong learner with a passion for how technology is improving business and consumer experiences - particularly within vertical markets important to MentorMate and MobCon - healthcare, financial services, and retail (to name a few). You are also a leader who has demonstrate success taking initiative, conducting research, proposing new business opportunities and establishing relationships with a wide-range of speakers, instructors, business leaders, professors and education leaders.
