Job Description

We’re looking for a driven, focused and professional sales associate aiming to forge a successful career in conference sponsorship, exhibit, and advertising sales. In this role, you will not just be responsible for selling packages to sponsors, you will also be developing new features that ensure our sponsors have benefits that extend beyond the conference.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years in conference sales focused on selling sponsorships, advertising and exhibits to mid to large size companies. Experience in hotel or convention sales will be considered. 
  • BA or BS Degree from four-year college or university in management, sales, marketing or related field.
  • Demonstrated success staying on top of trends in business and creating sponsorships and benefits that help companies more effectively market their products and services
  • The ability to cold-call and set appointments, meet with prospective clients and manage data in Salesforce.
  • Experience working in Excel, managing budgets, and writing proposals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends; willingness to travel.
  • Willingness to work with a base salary + commission based on sales performance

You will also have the responsibility for creating more strategic sponsorship programs that provide value to our sponsors and drive additional revenue for MobCon.

You will work in a rapidly-growing company, interacting daily with our executive director, as well as our conference, marketing and client services teams to identify targets, move opportunities forward, and generate new business.

Additional details:

  • You will help market and sell event sponsorships, exhibiting and industry advertising that may require working with multiple points of contact on the client’s end, usually a marketing manager and a principal decision maker.
  • Experience working in mobile and healthcare is a big plus. An existing database of client contacts in these industries is an even bigger plus. Leveraging your expertise and current database, in addition to ours, and cold-calling on customers are daily responsibilities in this role. 
  • The ability to learn about an industry quickly and use that knowledge during sales calls is also essential to success in this position.
  • Strong skills and discipline working with CRM tools like Salesforce are necessary, as well as skills reporting upon your sales pipeline.
  • You have exceptional attention to detail, especially in all external communication.
  • You have the ability to speak with senior executives (C-level) with confidence and poise.
  • You have extraordinary speaking and writing skills, including errorless grammar and spelling, rapid and accurate typing skills, and professional phone manner.
  • You have strong computer and internet skills, including comfort with web-based applications such as Salesforce, Google Apps and WordPress.
