Job Description

The staff engineer supports the testing and measurement equipment in the emissions lab. The staff engineer oversees equipment maintenance and calibration in accordance with regulations and MBC standards.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize the emissions lab testing and measurement equipment. Diagnose equipment and software issues and assist with problem resolution.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and calibration in accordance with regulation and MBC standards.
  • Support vehicle administration, scheduling, and procurement.
  • Maintain emission consumable inventories including procurement.
  • Maintain and update work instructions, standard operating procedures, and the laboratory description
  • Support the MCG audit preparation efforts
  • Manage select projects

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Engineering
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of passenger vehicle engine technology, combustion and related exhaust products, and exhaust after-treatment technologies. Knowledge of exhaust emissions measurement techniques and equipment.

  • Strong analysis and problem assessment skills. Ability to collect data and establish facts and identify trends and variances.

  • Ability to formulate and test hypothesis for the purpose of forecasting outcomes.

  • Articulate communication and interpersonal skills to work with a variety of levels in a multicultural environment

  • Must be fully conversant with DAG's development programs and the state-of-the-art technology of the test vehicles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of emission testing equipment, procedures and regulations
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Minimum of 2 years emission testing or engineering experience
  • Requires a valid driver's license

The fully trained individual must develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of:

  • Interdepartmental relationships and their effect on company, departmental and individual goals
  • Software that is applicable to the job

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Horiba exhaust measurement equipment.
  • Experience with ETAS measurement equipment and INCA software
