Job Description

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

The purpose of this position is to support Daimler AG with vehicle emission certification process for US and Canadian markets and ensure all necessary steps have been completed to allow for Certificate of Certification approval. 

- Input and maintain electronic information in EPA VERIFY and CARB DMS computer systems, as well as other agencies and organizations as necessary 

- Coordinate, complete, oversee, and report all vehicle emission certification activities related to Mercedes-Benz models by EPA, CARB or other organizations. 

- Issue and maintain proper records of all certification activities as required by EPA and CARB.

Communicate as necessary with internal and external clients to ensure clear and timely reporting. 

- Follow and report on any issues and changes to EPA and CARB certification matters. Evaluate and report back to Daimler AG any issue of importance. 

- Respond to Daimler AG requests for interpretation of government standards. 

- Follow and report regarding any modifications, improvements and changes greato EPA or CARB emission capabilities, equipment and/or procedures. 

Qualifications

Skills & Attributes:

- Experience with EPA VERIFY and CARB DMS computer systems. 

- In-depth knowledge of all regulations, standards and specifications related to emissions certification of light and medium duty vehicles. 

- In-depth knowledge of all Federal and California regulations related to fleet average fuel economy and greenhouse gases for light and medium duty vehicles. 

- Strong understanding of automotive technologies and engineering principles, especially in the field of testing and measurement. 

- Strong process optimization and process management skills 


Education & Experience:

Required Qualifications: 

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields 

- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant work experience 

- Willingness to travel (Domestic and International) 


Preferred Qualifications: 

- Previous Emission Certification experience.
