Dam Safety Intelligence (DSI) is a dedicated group of engineers, scientists and geologists delivering dam management expertise to dam owners in New Zealand and internationally.
We’re a subsidiary of Meridian Energy, New Zealand’s largest generator of energy from 100% renewable sources. At DSI, we place high value on relationships and understanding our clients’ needs to find solutions fit for them.
We collaborate, we create and innovate, and we take ownership.
This is a great role to cut your teeth on dam safety or continue your professional development within our niche team. It will see you working in collaboration with other dam safety specialists to undertake asset inspections in the field throughout New Zealand, manage dam surveillance data, liaise with client staff, analyse and interpret data, report on dam safety status and other aspects of dam safety management systems. We also have international clients, which will take you to unique parts of the world (when not in a global pandemic!).
The role integrates many aspects of engineering/science including civil, geotechnical, geological, structural, hydrological, data analysis and interpretation.
You’ll progressively work with over 70 assets of diverse designs, settings and purposes (hydropower, water supply, water treatment, flood control, recreation, and heritage).
This is your opportunity to join a team where you can help play a part in the development of the business, working as part of a team involved in all aspects of the business service provision.
DSI is a unique business internationally providing highly valued dam safety services on key strategic infrastructure of national importance, working with iconic assets throughout New Zealand and overseas.
This is a great role with scope from graduate with no dams experience through to intermediate level for someone that already has dams experience. You have a relevant qualification in Engineering (likely civil or natural resources) or Science and ideally some working experience.
You will have a high level of inter-personal and presentation skills, demonstrate a high level of initiative, along with a strongly analytical and interpretative mind. Report writing and verbal communication skills are essential.
As well as an attractive salary package, DSI offers a diverse and inclusive culture with benefits that are about making life better and easier, for you and your family.
