We are seeking an individual with expert level experience with Magento & PHP to enhance and improve our existing ecommerce solutions. The ideal candidate will have both architecture and design experience along with hands on development experience.

We are looking for an individual with expert level experience in both Magento and PHP to evaluate the existing architecture and design, participate in the development and delivery of modifications and enhancements. The candidate must be able to work both independently and as a lead to help mentor / train other application developers so that over time they improve their knowledge with the Magento platform.

In addition to a focus on Magento, this candidate will also be working with our WordPress platforms implementing modifications and enhancements to the system. The candidate will be working with an experienced WordPress resource.

Candidates must have a passion for technology and a flexible, creative approach to problem solving and have the ability to take technical ownership with respect to design and development changes. The successful candidate will have a solid track record designing, building and delivering high performing and quality content management system using the WordPress platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the existing architecture and design of our ecommerce offerings built on the Magento platform and document and recommend changes

• Design, develop and implement changes and enhancements to our existing ecommerce offerings, acting as the technical lead and individual contributor

• Translate functional requirements from business users into sound technical designs that meet business objectives.

• Provide subject matter expertise for use of the Magento platform

• Evaluate and recommend security and PCI compliance related changes

• Working with the infrastructure team, recommend architecture changes to improve performance and availability.

• Proactively offer solutions to complex technical problems

Qualifications

• Expert level experience with Magento and PHP - Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and developing ecommerce solutions built on the Magento platform

• Minimum 2 years PHP experience on Zend framework and LAMP stack

• Experience in WordPress architecture and development a plus

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills as needed to mentor team members who are less experienced with Magento

• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent understanding of internet technologies and topologies

• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

• Strong initiative, commitment, and a positive, "whatever" it takes attitude
