Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Food and Beverages Attendant to join our team in the beautiful Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. As a key member of our hospitality staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have an exceptional dining experience.
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, demonstrating knowledge of menu items and daily specials
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, adhering to high standards of presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and service stations
- Process payments accurately and handle cash transactions with care
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
- Respond to guest inquiries and concerns in a courteous and helpful manner
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assist in setting up and breaking down for special events or functions
- Maintain knowledge of local attractions and provide recommendations to guests when asked
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance service quality
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Excellent customer service skills with a warm, approachable demeanor
- Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry heavy trays
- Attention to detail in food presentation and maintaining a clean work area
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and processing payments
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist colleagues as needed
- Professional appearance and grooming standards
- Familiarity with local cuisine and cultural preferences is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training is beneficial
