Job Description
The Project Manager supports the Director of Engineering in planning, coordinating, and delivering all resort development, refurbishment, and CAPEX projects at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas.
The role ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with brand standards, local regulations, and ethical practices, while minimizing disruption to guest experience and resort operations.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list is not exhaustive. Team members are expected to proactively support the business, guests, and colleagues.
- Assist the Director of Engineering in planning, scheduling, and executing all engineering and construction projects.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules, timelines, and progress trackers.
- Conduct daily site supervision to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with approved plans.
- Supervise refurbishment and overhaul works for Overwater Villas, Beach Villas, BOH, and FOH areas.
- Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved CAPEX and budget allocations.
- Monitor project expenses and highlight cost variances or risks proactively.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Stores, and Operations teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
- Follow up with Purchasing on urgent local and international procurement requirements.
- Liaise with consultants (Architectural, Structural, MEP) for drawings, approvals, and technical guidance.
- Support the Director of Engineering in securing required government and authority approvals.
- Prepare monthly project progress reports for submission to DOE, FC, RM, and GM.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings, approvals, and records.
- Support preparation of CAPEX submissions and supporting justifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in project management within hospitality, resort, or luxury developments.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, refurbishment projects, and CAPEX management.
- Experience working in island resorts or remote locations is an advantage.
- Proficient in project scheduling, reporting, and technical documentation.
