Job Description

 

  • Conduct regular assessments and provide recommendations for updates to the Beverage and Wine list, ensuring an original and attractive beverage offering that aligns with the hotel's standards and guest expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all Anantara Guest Incentive programmes and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales revenue.
  • Establish and enforce proper inventory, requisition, bar pars, and control systems to maintain security and cost control across all beverage operations areas.
  • Actively engage in departmental training initiatives and deliver training as required to meet business needs. Implement and oversee a rigorous daily departmental training programme.
  • Uphold and enforce outlet safety and sanitation standards at all times without exception.
  • Strictly adhere to Anantara's Sanitation Checklist by ensuring all Bar service areas undergo monthly inspections.
  • Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized bar service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, billing, and stock control
  • Follow beverage recipes and presentation standards consistently
  • Upsell signature drinks, specials, and premium offerings
  • Monitor alcohol consumption and uphold responsible service practices
  • Restock bar supplies, verify stock levels, and communicate replenishment needs
  • Work closely with the service team to ensure seamless F&B operations

Qualifications

 

  • Full grade 12 certificate
  • Certificate in Hotel Management or related field 
  • Minimum 1–2 years bartending experience in a hotel, lodge, bar, or restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wines, and bar techniques
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling
  • Mixology or bar‑service training (advantage)
  • Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
  • Excellent communication and guest engagement skills
