We are seeking a People & Culture Partner who combines strong employee relations knowledge with a genuine passion for team engagement and community collaboration.

What you will do

  • Partner with leaders and team members to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive workplace culture

  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring alignment with labour legislation and company policies

  • Lead full People & Culture function: recruitment, onboarding, performance, engagement, and retention

  • Build strong relationships with local communities and key stakeholders, supporting community engagement initiatives

  • Drive team member engagement initiatives, including wellbeing, recognition, and communication programmes

  • Support managers in fostering high performance, accountability, and respectful leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor on people-related matters, balancing business needs with team member experience

What you will bring

  • Solid knowledge of Mozambique labour legislation and employee relations in a hospitality or service environment

  • Experience working with local communities, stakeholders, or community development initiatives

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills

  • A warm, credible presence with the ability to engage diverse audiences

  • Passion for people, culture, and delivering exceptional employee experiences

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience Required

🎓 Education & Professional Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred; equivalent experience considered)

  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, CIPD, or equivalent) is a strong advantage

📌 Experience

  • 5+ years progressive HR experience, with at least 4+ years in a managerial HR/P&C role, ideally within luxury hospitality or resort environments

  • Proven track record in talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and organisational development

  • Previous experience working with local teams and community engagement initiatives is highly desirable

📚 Knowledge & Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of Mozambican (or relevant) labour laws, HR best practice, and compliance

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills

  • Excellent leadership, coaching and conflict resolution capabilities

  • Ability to deliver and support employee engagement programmes and wellbeing strategies

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

🌍 Language & Cultural Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese; additional local languages an advantage

  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in a remote island setting
