Job Description
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. NH Maldives Kuda Rah employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
- Mixing ingredients, garnishing, and serving drinks accurately and quickly to guests at the bar
- Sanitising bar equipment, tools, and surfaces; washing glassware and removing rubbish.
- Stocking, monitoring, and replenishing liquor, beer, wine, ice, and garnishes.
- Multitasking, customer service, cocktail knowledge, POS system proficiency, and physical stamina.
- Managing inventory, restocking supplies, and keeping popular items available.
- Greeting customers warmly, taking precise orders, and handling complaints with professionalism. Strong communication keeps service friendly and efficient
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Explain daily specials, promotions and menu items when required.
- Upsell food and beverage items to enhance guest experience and revenue.
- Process bills, handle payments and ensure accuracy in POS transactions
- Complete all opening, closing and side duties as per standards.
- Report any breakages, maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Support fellow team members during peak periods to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in pre-shift briefings and training sessions.
- Maintain grooming, uniform and professional conduct in line with hotel standards.
- When assigned, take shift leader responsibilities such as allocating tables and guiding junior staff.
Qualifications
- Previous Experience as a bartender or mixologist
- Preferably in a resort with two years of experience
- O/Level education or equivalent
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Strong attention to detail, time management and multitasking skills.
- knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, guest-oriented skills
- Proficiency in the English language and an additional language is a plus
- Being qualified with WSET Level 1 and 2 is a significant advantage
