The Associate Director, Trade and Channel Operations will be directly responsible for the development of channel strategy and building a medical benefit distribution network within wholesale, specialty distribution and specialty pharmacy, including Market Access Services and Reimbursement initiatives. This role is a critical contributor in the pre- and post-launch period for market conditioning and launch execution.

Job Description

  • Develop channel strategy and tactics to support the launch of edaravone including MSA,
    DPA and FMV analysis.

  • Build a sourcing platform via the Patient Access Patient Services/Reimbursement Services HUB for
    providers, for Part B / buy & bill therapy.

  • Build a data warehouse to report ex-factory sales and process all government price reporting
    requirements.

  • Oversee promotional review committee approval of all reimbursement, patient services, distribution
    materials and messages within market access.

  • Manage all aspects of the contracting process with distribution vendors that are key for the development of all channel strategic operations including management of 852/867 data sets and a data
    aggregator.

  • Negotiate contracts based on a “fee for service” model with specialty distribution and specialty pharmacy providers and maintain relationships at each outlet to support the launch.

  • Identify proactive opportunities to expand the trade channel to support the customer base on
    sourcing edaravone.

  • Apply in-depth understanding of reimbursement issues, payer segments, process to plan and
    drive account support for necessary Managed Markets.

  • Assist in building strategic objectives, develop contracting strategies for MT Pharma America portfolio
    products, and deliver results which positively affect the organization’s top and bottom line.

  • Perform company-specific and product-specific desktop research to further inform commercial assessments; support the development/analysis of tailored external market research through third parties.

  • Serve as a key leader within the field and home office and participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business (Marketing or Finance) or science required. MBA or MS preferred.

Professional Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry within Trade, Distribution, Contracting, preferably gained in both small and large companies.

10 years of experience with Field Reimbursement Managed Markets/Market Access/Operations teams and/or sales leadership with a track record of successfully executing on product launches and reimbursement programs.

Recent in-depth experience with: Orphan Drug launches; Part B / Buy & Bill and Home Infusion in the
Neurology/CNS market, preferably with movement disorders specifically; and successful management of access and reimbursement processes.

Knowledge and Skills:|
Working knowledge and understanding of the Pharma
industry, broad therapeutic areas/disease states, drugs/treatments, and
related regulatory, commercialization and compliance requirements.

In-depth understanding, experience and existing customer relationships inTrade/Distribution.

Key knowledge of Market Access strategies with experience in contracting and government price reporting, patient services / HUB design a plus.

General knowledge of “fee for service” distribution agreements, 852/867 data sets, distribution MSA’s, performance contracts, sourcing scorecards, and Specialty Distribution.

Demonstrated responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-through coupled with ability
to prioritize/multi-task effectively.

Analytical/strategic skills to synthesize complex information, distill critical insights to inform
commercial assessments, and translate to tactical level.

Outstanding business case development skills, financial acumen and budget management skills.

Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

Highly proficient in MS Office; skilled at using Excel to develop pharmaceutical product forecast models and quantitative analyses.

Willingness to travel 35% domestically and internationally for business and project meetings as required.
