Job Description

The Loan Production Specialist is responsible for passionately, consistently, and swiftly providing world class customer service to borrowers and Mortgage Advisors with the goal of closing saleable loans on time. Working closely with Loan Production Assistants, the Loan Production Specialist ensures a timely and accurate experience for our clients—from first time home buyers to refinancers—throughout the entire mortgage process. 

 

  1. Pulls loan pipeline each morning in designated time block and effectively uses this tool to sort which files are a priority and need to be worked on in order of: purchase, refinance, and lock date.
  2. Works with Loan Production Assistant to order out all necessary documentation for each loan file including AUS, appraisals, title documentation, as well as all required credit and underwriting documentation, as required by the matrix for each loan type.
  3. Discloses or re-discloses complete and compliant loans in accordance with Mortgage Advisory Group’s compliance and guideline matrices, as well as government and investor requirements; ensuring that the documents have not been altered.
  4. Seeks review and approval or release from the Disclosure Support Specialist prior to sending out disclosures or re-disclosures to the client.
  5. Reviews loan approvals and addresses all conditions required by the Underwriter or Closing Team; reaches out to the borrower, third-party vendor, or the Mortgage Advisor on obtaining the conditions.
  6. Calculates W-2 or self-employment income while using the most up to date income calculation forms with each loan submission. 
  7. Sends loans, including initial submissions and submissions for conditions, to the Underwriting Team that meet product guidelines or other conditions set forth by the Underwriter.
  8. Ensures that conditions that are provided for a loan resubmittal are attached to the conditions the Underwriter created in the Encompass e-Folder.
  9. Submits complete loan files for underwriting review and includes submission or condition coversheets with every loan file.
  10. Schedules and tracks closing dates, contingency dates, and loan lock expirations.
  11. Uses the process checklists to prepare, review, and submit loan files to the Closing Team in a timely manner.
  12. Maintains documentation and records in a highly organized and confidential fashion.
  13. Meets deadlines set forth by the service level agreement.
  14. Seeks additional help or training in in areas that are in need of improvement or items that aren’t clear.
  15. Shares ideas on improving systems and processes.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM: The following education and work experience requirements are essential for competent job performance.

Education:  High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in the mortgage industry as a loan coordinator, processor, or loan originator assistant.

  1. Knowledge of HMDA, RESPA, TILA, HCVV, and other mortgage related laws and regulations.
  2. Good working knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs and guidelines.
  3. Proficient with Automated Underwriting Systems.
  4. Ability to interpret underwriting guidelines.
  5. Entry to Intermediate level of processing knowledge.
  6. Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office software and standard office equipment including computer, copier, fax, and telephone equipment, as well as the ability to use multi-media resources.
  7. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to provide exceptional customer service and a “raving fan” experience.
  9. Organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and an excellent problem-solver.
  10. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

DESIRED:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or other related field.

Experience: More than three (3) years of experience in an operational role in the residential mortgage industry.

  1. Experience working in Ellie Mae’s Encompass, Bankers’ Edition.
  2. Thorough knowledge of loan products including: FHA, VA, USDA, Reverse Mortgages, and 203K.
  3. Knowledgeable of loan program guidelines, regulatory compliance issues and the related disclosure requirements for multiple loan programs, including FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional loans with MI, Bond loans, and loans brokered to wholesale lenders.

The is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5 pm.
