Job Description

Mountain Family Health Centers, is seeking a IT Director to provide technological direction and leadership to our organization by developing and implementing communications, information technology initiatives and plans to improve the organization’s effectiveness. Primary responsibilities of the position are to oversee all aspects of the organization’s information technology department to include information systems (Electronic Health Records – NextGen and financial systems) communication network, internet and computer operations, networking and other information technology functions. Position will support budgetary and performance controls, propose new programs and projects to help achieve the organization’s business objectives. This position will be responsible for ensuring security of data while also allowing for appropriate but secure data sharing within the organization and with information exchanges. This position will be responsible for developing priorities for the department in order to meet the organization’s long term information needs. Direct supervision of IT staff. 

Qualified candidate will have a BA/BS in information technology, computer science or other applicable field, advanced degree (Masters) preferred. Minimum of five years senior management experience. Minimum of seven years’ experience working with Large Systems Operations. Minimum of four years’ experience with data communications, including host communications, telecommunications, protocols and other related communications mediums. Must have strong understanding of information technology software and systems, ability to manage multiple projects and be adaptable to change

Qualifications

A. Education or Formal Training & Experience

1. BS in engineering/technical/computer science or other closely related field preferred. Years of experience maybe substituted for degree. 

2. Minimum of five (5) years senior management experience. 

3. Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working with Large Systems Operations. 

4. Minimum of four (4) years’ experience with data communications, including host communications, telecommunications, protocols and other related communications mediums

5. Experience and expertise in software related to networks, data bases, electronic health record, practice management, dental electronic records, and report writing (preferred).

6. SQL experience wanted

7.  Experience working with a clinical informantist desired

B. Knowledge, Skill & Ability: 

1. Knowledge of principles and practices of organizational management and demonstrated skills in administration, governmental policies affecting clinic service delivery and operational requirements at Federal, State, and Local levels, financial and budget management, and personnel development 

2. Written and verbal communication skills in English commensurate with college level education.

3. Knowledge and skills in group dynamics, interpersonal relationships, and supervisory techniques

4. Knowledge of health care needs and needs assessment models

5. Skill in conflict management/resolution

6. Skill in computer software applications such as word processing, data base, spread sheet, and scheduling

7. Ability to relate effectively to persons of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds 

C. Physical Requirements and Workplace Environment:

1. May require sitting for long periods of time. Occasional bending, stretching, or lifting. Requires frequent walking and standing for prolonged periods of time. 

2. May require lifting and carrying items which weigh up to 45 pounds. 

3. Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts  

4. Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions. 

5. Requires the ability to drive to other corporate locations, to fly to out-of-town conferences, and to work evening or weekends as needed.

6. Must pass a criminal background check

7. Annual Flu vaccine required. Employer will provide

8. Obtain 2 step PPD for tuberculosis (annually if provider). Employer will provide 

9. Obtain vaccine records for MMR, Varicella, T-DaP and Hep B. Employer will provide


Additional Information

Annual salary hiring range is $88,000-$95,000 DOE
